Getting an instrument
Parents need to provide an instrument for their child.

If you already have an instrument, by all means bring it along to the first lesson.

Otherwise we recommend waiting until you have met the teacher.
Many instruments have different sizes and options, and your new
teacher will be able to provide guidance on what your child needs.

We DO NOT recommend buying a cheap instrument
from Amazon, Wish, or similar websites.

The quality is often so poor the instruments are not playable
and your child will not be able to make a good sound - very discouraging!

There are several reputable music shops in Cambridge
who can assist with purchasing or renting an instrument:
Woodwind & Reed
106 Russell Street
flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet & more

PMT Cambridge
172 East Road

Cambridge Pianoforte Centre
10-12 Kings Hedges Road

Millers Music
14 Sussex Street

YAMM has a small number of instruments available for hire.
